In the late 1970's, a neighbor of our founder, John Lapata Sr, took him to work in the Public Adjustment industry. As John was exposed to the tremendous losses incurred by families and business owners and then seeing the relief they had when they received their financial recoveries, he could not help but feel a high amount of gratification that he played a large part in helping people recover from their terrible insurance losses.
Foxwood Adjusters, LLC will also Project Manage the recovery and make sure the rebuilding of the home or business proceeds speedily and efficiently and will make sure the insurance monies are not wasted.
Once John obtained his public adjusting license, he worked with a large international adjusting company, Sapperstein, Hochberg & Haberman, and became an understudy of the principals. They treated John well and gave opportunity to travel to Galveston, Texas to handle disaster adjustments from a terrible hurricane, Hurricane Elisha in 1983. John spent several months adjusting and estimating millions of dollars worth of hurricane damage to the county buildings, commercial businesses and homes in the Galveston and Houston metro areas. John also learned about lateral force damage and what it does to a building when immense forces push against it.
